About Greening Bishop's Waltham
Climate Change has become both a national and international problem. The predicted effects of Climate Change are now beginning to affect life across the world, as well as in the UK which has already experienced plenty of extreme weather.
There are now national and international cries for something to change on a monumental scale – yet the problem is so big, individuals feel powerless and isolated, wondering how they can possibly make a difference.
This campaign is designed to be an effective community response to an international problem. It is designed so all members of that community feel they have influence by acting together.
The project will be run under 5 'pillars' to focus our efforts and help to engage the community in practical and achievable tasks to support the local environment.
1. Energy Efficient Warmer Homes
Meet the experts!
This online public meeting took place on 15th July where we met Hampshire & the Isle of Wight Trust and Garden Organic experts, and also found out more about Energy Efficient Warmer Homes from Terena Plowright (founder of the Greening Campaign).
The Public Meeting on Monday 8th July was incredibly well attended by members of the Bishop's Waltham community. Terena Plowright (founder of The Greening Campaign) delivered an engaging and inspiring presentation which outlined how and why The Greening Campaign had been established. She described the positive impacts that communities can have when working together. The meeting then invited all attendees to vote on the initial priorities for the Greening Bishop's Waltham Campaign. The selected priorities will be featured on cards delivered to every household to encourage everyone to make a small change and join this exciting community initiative!
