Competition Time!
Thank you to everyone who entered our Up-cycling Competition at our Greening Campaign Showcase event on 11th October!
What do you get when you mix a broken table, a forklift pallet, and a whole lot of imagination? An inspiring upcycling competition at the Greening Campaign Showcase in Bishop’s Waltham! 70 creative minds – from adults to Beaver Scouts – turned “junk” into genius! Highlights included:

A forklift pallet herb planter with a trickle irrigation system and fruit punnets as plant pots
-
A junior blacksmiths forge made from scrap metal and an airbed pump
-
A cozy rag rug crafted from an old duvet
-
A BBQ made out of a taxi motor part!
The goal? Reduce landfill waste and show how easy it can be to give “rubbish” a second life.
Big thanks to our judges - Danny Chambers MP, Terena Plowright, and Andrew Urquhart - and to our generous prize sponsors: Jamies Computers, Marwell Zoo, and Hampshire County Council Waste Prevention Team.

We have put together a series of maps and information to help you reduce waste and recycle as much as possible.
Terracycle Recycling
The following items can be dropped to the collection box on the front drive at:
Firwood, Victoria Road, Bishop’s Waltham SO32 1DJ.
Please leave items sorted into their programmes and in a named bag. If it looks similar but is not on the list, then I cannot accept it.
Please text 07985 414656 when a drop has been made.
They will then be taken to a Terracycle recycling point.

BISCUITS/CAKES/CRACKERS -Any Brand Biscuit wrappers, sweet not savoury e.g., penguins inside and outside wrappers or custard cream packs etc in any brand. Plastic cracker, cake, or rice cake wrappers.
PHILIPS DENTAL -Any plastic Manual Toothbrushes. Electric toothbrush heads. Dental floss sticks, nozzles and packaging.
BAKERY -Any brand bakery flexible wrappers and trays and Standard sliced bread bag.
PRINGLES - Pringle branded crisp tubes. No lids.
STAMPS - Stamps. New or used. UK or foreign.
CLEANING - Any Brand Plastic Air fresheners, cartridges, and packaging, including car air fresheners. No glass or metal. Lenor tumble dryer sheets. Flexible home cleaning wipes packets. Rigid home cleaning wipes tubs.Tinted fabric conditioner bottles only -not clear bottles. Fabric conditioner lids. Flexible laundry pods and capsules packaging.
FOREIGN COINS & NOTES
MILK BOTTLE LIDS - Standard Milk bottle lids only (clean without any paper attached)
BURTS BEES - Any brand Flexible metal or plastic tubes used for hand cream/body cream
Flexible beauty wipes packets.
Empty eyeshadow compacts, mascara tubes & wands, lipstick/lip-gloss tubes, lip balm tubes or lip/cheek highlighter or bronzer sticks.
MARIGOLDS– Marigold branded gloves and packaging.
RB HYGIENE - Flexible cleaning product refill packaging, Flexible home cleaning wipe packaging and freshener, Dishwasher cleaner outer packaging, Flexible plastic dishwashing salt bag, Fragrance twin pack plastic sleeves, Flexible stain remover powder packaging and Flexible dishwashing tablet packaging Outer plastic sleeves.
SISTEMA - All brands of (rigid) plastic food storage containers and lids and All brands of reusable plastic water bottles and caps.
BABYBEL – Babybel wax, nets and labels
CHEESE PACKAGING – Any brand cheese packaging (washed please)
